Morrison Hotel Wedding

It was a lovely Autumn day for Gillian and Callum’s Morrison Hotel wedding. I always like to give a sense of time and place for my wedding photographs.

Undoubtedly the nicest things about a wedding at The Morrison Hotel is that it gives a sense of the old and new of Dublin to the wedding pictures.

Finding nice backgrounds is one of the most important things to me when I am photographing a wedding. There are lovely backdrops of Dublin just on the doorstep of The Morrison Hotel.

After a beautiful wedding ceremony, I photographed Gillian and Callum’s walking around the area. Across the millennium bridge, down the quays and over the Halfpenny Bridge back to the hotel.

In fact Dubliners kindly moved out of the way while we were taking the pictures on the Halfpenny Bridge. The public are always happy to help.

This made Gillian and Callum’s feel like they were taking a nice walk through Dublin on their wedding day. Importantly not like they were posing for wedding photographs.

Also a bit of fun and only takes about 15 minutes so they were not missing too much of their party.

I like to think people also feel very comfortable working with me so they actually end up enjoying the experience. Besides  brides look at their most beautiful on their wedding day when you do not pose them. Hopefully, they do that feel like there are being photographed. 

There are also lovely places for pictures also at The Morrison Hotel. The large mirror in the front room is great for family portraits. Most importantly, Gillian and Callum were delighted with their pictures. They thought they looked very natural which I always hope for in my wedding photographs.

There was a lovely wedding ceremony in a beautifully restored Georgian room at Number 5 South Leinster Street. After I brought Karen and Padraig for a walk in the area surrounding the National Gallery. Over the years I have formulated a nice route that takes in Georgian Dublin and Merrion Square Park. This approach made Karen and Padraig feel like they are taking a nice walk through Dublin on their wedding day. They did not feel they were posing for wedding photographs.

Karen and Padraig were delighted with their photographs. Always one of the most rewarding part of wedding photography for me. They thought that they looked very elegant and natural which is what they were looking for.
