It was a lovely sunny day in December for Julie and Mick’s Finnstown House Wedding. I like to give a sense of place and story to my wedding photographs. The grounds of Finnstown House and the country church ceremony made for a lovely backdrop for the wedding pictures. Julie and Mick chose me to photograph their day as I do not like to do many posed pictures. I like to photographed a wedding candidly to capture the atmosphere in a natural and unobtrusive manner. I find that brides look at their most beautiful on their wedding day when they are relaxed and do not have to worry about posing for photographs. I met with Julie at Finnstown House to photograph her wedding preparations before the ceremony and then we traveled on to a beautiful country church wedding ceremony in Wicklow. The old country church interior made for a lovely setting for the photographs. The church facade was a lovely backdrop for the group photograph of all the guests following the ceremony.
We returned to Finnstown house and for the bridal portraits. I photographed Julie and Mick’s walking through through the gardens at Finnstown House. This made Julie and Mick’s feel like they were talking a nice walk on their wedding day and not like they were posing for wedding photographs. I like to give a sense of story and place to a couple’s wedding photographs and the grounds and the exterior of Finnstown House also make for a great setting for the photographs. The interior of Finnstown House also made for lovely backdrops for the family pictures which I also made as natural looking as possible.
Julie and Mick’s were delighted with their photographs. It is always find the most rewarding part of wedding photography for me.
